Beyond the Waves

Solutions to the climate crisis requires great feats of engineering. In this film we take a look back at another great feat of engineering that defied the laws of psysics in the Netherlands.

To reach the 2050 climate goals we need to move beyond current conventions of ingenuity. This might seem impossible, but impossible has been done before. In this film we tell the story of how the Netherlands has defied the laws of physics and gone further - not accepting the status quo. Placed several meters below sea level, the water masses have always been a threat. So the Dutch set out to do the impossible. They learned not only to control the water through state of the art engineering. They embraced the powerful North Sea and the potential of living with it.

This is a story of how we as humans can solve imminent threats through engineering . At the North Sea Wind Power Hub we are inspired by the Dutch and how they moved beyond water management. Because this is the level of ambition that is required to solve the monumental climate crisis.
