Active Power Control of Wind Hub

North Sea Wind Power Hub - Dynamic Stability Studies Offshore Grid

This report documents the studies performed for Scope A of the North Sea Wind Power Hub dynamic stability assessment. The main objective of Scope A is to review methods of controlling active power for the two different topologies of the offshore hubs with wind power feeding the hub and interconnectors between hubs. The studies were performed using Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) simulation in PSCAD software. To evaluate the active power control aspects, the tests such as step changes to power infeed, adjustments to power reference setpoint, and wind power plant outages were considered.
